APT Model - A Mee

5" APT-E designed and built by Aubyn Mee

The model design is based on the original but to accommodate an internal combustion engine with hydraulic drive to give a powerful public hauling locomotive. The model tilts the same as the prototype and is powered by a Honda GX160 5.5Hp engine that drives a variable swashplate hydraulic pump to two fixed swashplate motors one on each bogie. The engine and hydraulics are controlled by servos which in turn are operated remotely by servo tester modules.
